Obituary of Hester Lindsey

Hester Lindsey transitioned from labor to rest on December 26, 2020 at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center, Magnolia, Arkansas.  Hester was born to the late Will Norton and the late Joelily Thomas on April 26, 1936 in Pinehill, Louisiana.  The youngest of eight siblings, she accepted Christ at an early age and was added to the Church of Christ.  She attended school in Emerson, Arkansas where she later met and married her best friend, L.B. "Pete" Lindsey.   The couple moved to Los Angeles, California to make a life together and expand their family.

In her twenties, Hester worked at a dress factory in Los Angeles and in her thirties she worked at Penny and Quilt.  She loved her life and enjoyed California.  In later years, though, she decided to move back home.  She moved her membership to Haynesville Church of Christ, where she remained faithful until the end.

Always positive and spiritual, she loved music, singing, cleaning, cooking and dancing.  But most of all, she loved taking care of all of her children.  She was such a blessing to any that came in contact with her!  She was a true blessing from God.  She  dedicated her life to Christ and encouraged all of her family to do the same.  To know her was to know unconditional love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.B. "Pete" Lindsey, two of her grandchildren, Deandrae Smith and Traveon Sales, her parents and all of her siblings.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: L.B Lindsey of Emerson, AR, Cathy Sales of California, Betty (John) Traylor of Texarkana, AR,  Barbara Lindsey, Shanell Lindsey Guest, Ronnie Lindsey, all of California, Michael Thomas Lindsey of Missouri, Derontae Dodson , Tyun Sockee Dodson both of California, Rajahnique "Nikki" Dodson of Nevada, twenty-one grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, one nephew, J.W. Walters of Magnolia, one niece, Lillie Mae Maxie of California, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Her friends, Gladys, Lydell, and Marilyn were near and dear to her heart.
