Obituary of Willie Gene Manning
Rev. Willie G Manning, 81 years, of Magnolia, passed away on Monday September 14, 2020 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born July 26, 1939, he was the son of the late Robert Manning and the late Willie Mae Copeland Manning.
Using the gifts and talents that God gave him, he worked for himself as a tree trimmer to support his family. He had a great love for God and Jesus Christ, which he shared with many over the years. He served as Pastor of his beloved Macedonia #2 Baptist Church for seven years and as pastor of Salem Baptist Church in Shongaloo, Louisiana, for twenty years.
He was preceded in death by two of his children, Bobby Manning and Willie Ray Manning.
He leaves cherished memories of time spent together with his wife, Rose Williams Manning; one son, Leon William Manning; one daughter: Doris Ross, all of Magnolia; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, four brothers: Truman (Jessie Mae) Manning and Hosea (Etta Mae) Manning of Chicago, IL, Otha Ray (Josephine) Manning of TN, Alvin (Catherine) Manning of Magnolia; and five sisters: Pinkie Jackson and Ida J. Haynes of Chicago, IL, and Angie Manning, Burdanna Wesley, and Linda (Charles) French, all of Magnolia.
There will be a public viewing (masks required due to Covid-19) at Henderson's Mortuary, Inc, 614 Calhoun Rd, Magnolia, on Friday, Sept. 25, 2020 from noon until 4 p.m.
Funeral Service will be held "Alfresco" (in the open air) at Macedonia #2 Baptist Church, 660 Col 46 S, Emerson, AR 71740, on Saturday, Sept. 26, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor, Rev.
