To the Wright Family: We are sorry to hear about Aunt Ethel's passing. May the Great God of Comfort, Jehovah, give you the comfort you need during this time of extreme grief. Remember the Scripture at John 5:28, 29 which reads: 28 "Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out
." The resurrection hope is real and in the near future we will see Aunt Ethel again. Until that time please be assured of our warm Christian love. Tyrone and Carolyn (Wright) Wallace, Pullman, MI

Rest easy cousin. I remember cousin Ethel at the state Board of Cosmetology. She was one of my teachers during the physical exam. She would come up behind me and whisper, “you better hurry up”! I remember my dad telling me that she taught him how to sing. Beautiful lady with the sweetest spirit. You will be greatly missed cousin but never forgotten

Ethel Wright was a sweet and dear person who happened to be my favorite auntie of all times. She had a laugh that would stand out from the rest and a smile that would light up a room. She was a true inspiration in my life and her peach cobbler was the best. Aunt Ethel until we meet again.....I love you!

I remember the first and last times I saw Aunt Ethel was at the Warren's Family Reunion in Fresno, 2017. She was such a classic lady, who had no problem telling it like it is. I will miss the phone calls we had, she always had such amazing stories to tell. She will truly be missed.
Rest in peace, Aunt Ethel.
Love,
Dwella

I hope never to forget the sheer joy and laughter our mother (Nonnie) and she shared when the two were together. Cousins born a few days apart. When Diane and I visited her a few years back in Atlanta and last fall in Magnolia, on both occasions she spoke about how she loved that gal (Mom) and are you still preaching.

Auntie I’m so happy that I was able to see you on Sunday via FaceTime which turned out to be our final goodbye. You always made me feel so special. Stay with the Lord Youngin, you would always say. You would always tell me that I looked like your sister, my great grandmother Ivy Mae. I’ll always cherish our times together, our lunch/dinner dates and me going to sit with you when you lived in “Buckhead” meeting your nurses and friends that you made while you were there. Youngin, as you would call me stay beautiful on the outside and make sure you’re just as beautiful on the inside. Auntie I’m still working on that however people, especially family are always trying me but I’m learning to walk away. Thank you for all of the lessons, talks and reprimands lol...boy you would get on me at times but it was all good. I’m so glad that I would call to check on you and you would always tell your caregivers, this my niece calling me from California lol.

PS I sure hope that when I’m in my 80’s, I’m able to take after you and wear high heels as you did in your 80’s...lol yes babe.

When I was growing up Aunt Ethel always found the time to share her husband and my uncle Eugene to support our hobbies on fishing and hunting trips. if time permitted on some special days she would join us prepare special meals which we would enjoy so well. When in Magnolia if time permitted we always had to visit and talk about what we would call the good old days. To the family; Children, Grand Children, Great Grand Children, Aunt Ethel will be dearly missed.

Psalm 73:26 says, "My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever." Mrs. Ethel was one of Calhoun Heights Matriarchs. She was a woman of dignity and distinction, also a God fearing woman. She took pride in her church and community. She will be solely missed in our Calhoun Heights Community. A living legend, a pioneer in her own right.

"Ms. Ethel" (as she was so fondly called) was a special person in so many ways! Her inner beauty was as significant as her outer beauty. Her smile and her personality would outshine the brightest light and for that, she was loved! You never saw her without her make-up done to perfection; her clothing to a tee and nary a hair out of place. Her love and pride for her son, Mack, was evident in how fondly she spoke of him. Her family, both biological and by association, meant the world to her and she loved everyone equally. No matter the span of time, whenever I would see her, I thought she was timeless because she never seemed to age and her beauty was ageless. Rest on, Cousin Ethel. Rev. and Mrs. Edward (Holly Rogers) Harris, Muskegon, MI.

Auntie Ethel was a number of first for me as well as Mt. Superior. She organized the first youth choir which consisted of Shirley Mae; Ava; and myself. This choir grew to the point of filling the choir stand. She hauled us all in her little white Volkswagen. She gave Ava and I our first job, cleaning her house, which did not need cleaning. She gave me my first professional hair style. I will forever love her and cherish her memories. Rest in love Auntie.

I remember when cousin Ethel came to Phoenix, AZ to visit. She was so excited to see my oldest son playing the drums and singing at church. She always said, "That boy is going to preach!" I'm so thankful that she was able to hear him preach during a revival in Texarkana. She would be so proud to know that he's released one CD and the 2nd one is coming out soon. She really enjoyed seeing her family do something with their lives. Rest easy cousin Ethel. You will be greatly missed.
