Obituary of Mary Shepherd
Mrs. Mary Shepherd, age 85, was called home to heavenly rest on Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at Magnolia, AR. Born in Magnolia, Columbia County, AR, on January 14, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Pleas T. Cook and Vorah Lee Ferguson Cook.
In her youth, Mary found and accepted Christ Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church. She remained an active member of the body of Christ, serving faithfully on the usher board for as long as her health allowed.
Mary was a loving and caring person which suited her well as a nurses aide at Magnolia Hospital until retirement.
Mother Shepherd was preceded in death by her father, Pleas T. Cook; her husband, Rev. C.C. Shepherd, Jr., and her daughter, Elnora Morgan.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons: Kenneth Ray Morgan, Stamps, AR, Oscar Morgan, III (Michelle) of Weekiwachee, FL, five grandchildren: Kristy Nicole Morgan Carter (Jameel), Justin Fisher Morgan (Kimberly), Orlando Morgan, Miles Ellis Morgan, Jeremy Morgan, five and one/half great-grandchildren (Justin & Kimberly are expecting), her mother, Vorah Lee Ferguson Cook, one sister, Bobbie Jean Trotter (Robert) Hope, AR, and a great host of nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
