Obituary of Elroy Gilbert, Sr.

Elroy Gilbert was born May 23, 1948, to the late Nathaniel and Catherine French- Gilbert.

Elroy Gilbert departed his life from earth to eternity on December 4, 2019, at the Medical Center of South Arkansas. At an early age, Elroy is preceded in death by his parents, three sisters Irene Gilbert, Lucy Mae Gilbert, and Early Mae Gilbert, three brothers, Huey P. Gilbert, Clint Gilbert, and Melroy Gilbert.

Elroy leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his son Elroy Gilbert Jr. of El Dorado, Arkansas, Kimberly Cress of Hope, Arkansas, and three grandchildren. He leaves one brother, Bobbie L. Gilbert of Flint, Michigan, and three sisters, Shirley Mae Gulley of Camden, Arkansas, Brenda (Famous) Gilbert of Village, Arkansas, and Sarah Ann (Maurice) Wyrick of Magnolia, Arkansas. He leaves his many wonderful memories to always be carried on by his many nieces, nephews, and a host of Friends. Elroy also leaves his memories to be carried on by two aunts, Jewell Burris of Dallas, Texas, and Dottie Baker Johnson of Flint Michigan.

As per his wishes, there will be a viewing and praise service beginning at 1:00 p.m.  at his beloved Damascus Baptist Church, 2761 County Rd 42, Village, AR,  prior to interment at Damascus Cemetery, Village.
