Obituary of James Preston Walker

James Preston "Foots" Walker, age 57, of Magnolia died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Arkansas Hospice of Little Rock, AR. Mr. Walker was born May 15, 1958 in Magnolia, AR. He is the son of the late Chester Monk and the late Emma Lee Walker. He was Christian by faith and dearly loved his Bethlehem Baptist Church home where he was known to be kind and helpful in any way that he could, often lending a hand in the kitchen. Although he had worked as a construction hand, his true passion was cooking and he excelled in it; his banana pudding, collard greens, and "three finger" hot water cornbread will not be easily forgotten. "Pres" is survived by one brother: Lawrence D. of Magnolia, AR; one sister Christine, of McNeil, AR, and a great host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including one very special friend, Hazel Jean Trammell, of Magnolia, AR. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, August 22, at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Magnolia, with Rev. Tony Smith officiating. Pastor B.J. Harris is deliver the eulogy. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Friday, August 21, from noon until 4 pm.
