Obituary of Lula McDaniel

Mrs. Lula Mae Strickland McDaniel was born July 6, 1932 in Columbia County, AR to the late Neely Strickland and the late Josie McBride Strickland. In 1950, she was united in Holy Matrimony with the late Ezra McDaniel. To this union, nine children were born. She departed this life on May 7, 2014. Accepting Christ at an early age, Lula Mae joined Damascus Baptist Church, where she remained a proud and dutiful member until her health failed. Throughout the years, she served as a member of the Usher's Board, member of the choir, and as a Missionary. She took pride in preparing for Pastor's Appreciation services and the Annual Church Homecoming celebration. She was retired from the Magnolia Housing Authority. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ezra "Buster" McDaniel, her youngest daughter, Sheila K. McDaniel Jones, her eldest daughter, Gloria Dean Paschal, and all of her siblings. She leaves to cherish her memories, four sons: Freddie McDaniel, Terry (Faye) McDaniel of Magnolia, Lovell McDaniel of Village, and Eddie Lee (Jean) McDaniel of Waldo; three daughters: Bobbie Dean McDaniel, Avanell Richard of Village, and Jackie Jones of Magnolia, twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, god-son, Darvin Jones of Village, and a host of nephews, nieces, and other relatives that loved her dearly. The funeral will be held 3:00 pm on Saturday, May 10 at Damascus Baptist Church, Village, AR with Rev. Ernest Moore, eulogist. Burial will be in Damascus Cemetery, Village under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service . . .
