Obituary of Gertie Manning
Ms. Gertie Mae Manning, age 82, was born January 10th, 1942 to the late Sammye Manning and Mossie Poole Manning. She departed her earthly life on January 4, 2025 surrounded by family.
Ms. Gertie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at St. Phillips A.M.E Church in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was a dedicated mother and homemaker. One of her love languages was feeding her loved ones. When she wasn’t taking care of her family, she spoke of her love for Christ. If you didn’t have a church home, she was inviting you to hers. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and watching court shows. Let’s not forget, she loved playing cards with her sisters and niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents Sammye Manning and Mossie Poole Manning; son Robert Lynn Gentry; daughter Shelia Rone; grandson Eric Gentry; granddaughter Trinity Green; sisters Louise Manning, Sharolette Coleman, Willie Mae Critton, Ira Ward, Beulah Carey; brothers J.W. Manning, Lewis Manning, and Roosevelt Manning.
She leaves behind a strong legacy of love, strength, kindness, and faith. She is survived by: two daughters, Pamela Gentry of Muskegon, Mi, Stacy Gentry of Magnolia, AR; two sons Tracy (Shelly) and Rydall Gentry both of Whitewater, Wi; a special daughter Marie Ruyan of Magnolia, AR; two sisters Nelving Greene and Girlvie Grissom both of Magnolia, AR; grandchildren Ketrica Green, Ka-Tisha Green, Kisha (Donald) Allen, SheCosha (Jermar) Jackson, Lawrence Harris, Ja’Son Harris, Lakinston Gentry, Echo Gentry, Jaylin Huntley, Zacarias Gentry, Gary Ellis, Shardae Gentry, Dell Penning, Courtney(DeRonnie) Pearson, Olivia Brooks, Andrea Gentry, and Cory Gentry; 17 great-grand and one great- great-grandchildren.
